Legislative Updates - Advocacy

MidAtlantic IADA supports legislative changes that improve and enhance the dealer licensing process and promote honesty and fair dealing while protecting Pennsylvania, Maryland, and Delaware dealers from unfair competition from unlicensed individuals and supporting an automobile environment that creates favorable protections for automobile dealers, lienholders, and customers.

EPA car rule to push huge increase in EV sales

EPA car rule to push huge increase in EV sales

WASHINGTON (AP) — The Biden administration will propose strict new automobile pollution limits this week that would require at least 54% of new vehicles sold in the U.S. to be electric by 2030 and as many as two of every three by 2032, according to industry and environmental officials briefed on the plan.

The proposed regulation, to be released Wednesday by the Environmental Protection Agency, would set greenhouse gas emissions limits for the 2027 through 2032 model years for passenger vehicles that would be even stricter than goals the auto industry agreed to in 2021.

Cybersecurity 101: How to Protect Your Dealership

This year’s IBM Cost of a Data Breach Report found that the average total cost per breach in the U.S. reached a record high of $9.44 million. While breaches at large corporations grab the headlines, nearly half of all cyberattacks occur in companies with fewer than 50 employees. PennDot Agent Guidance

PennDot Agent Guidance

Dear Member,

You may have heard of the recent intent of suspension letters PennDOT is sending out to Online Service Providers regarding missing work.  PIADA would like to remind you of your responsibilities as an Agent and what PennDOT may look for at the time of an audit.  As part of your agent agreement, you are required to retain copies of all deals processed for 3 (three) years no matter how they are completed.  Any work processed online that produces a barcode on the printout needs to be sent to your online provider (ex: CVR) and you must retain a copy.
