Pennsylvania New Registration Plate Design
As announced by Governor Shapiro, Pennsylvania will be transitioning to a new registration plate design. This new registration plate will be available in the Spring of 2025.
The new design will feature Pennsylvania as the birthplace of America, the Liberty Bell in the background and the text, “Let Freedom Ring” printed at the bottom of the plate and “Pennsylvania” at the top of the plate.
When the new plate is available, customers may apply for a replacement registration plate and pay all applicable fees. The first plates that will be available will be the standard issue registration plates. Customers that wish to keep their current configuration, may have the configuration placed on the new style plate. However, the replacement and personalization fee may be required. Additional information will be announced when registration plates with the new design are available.
All Agents will continue to use their current temp plate inventory. When that inventory of the previous style standard issue registration plates is exhausted, you will begin receiving the new style temporary registration plates.
